An exciting secondment opportunity has arisen for a highly developed experienced clinical nurse to join our small team of Lead Nurses for Medicines Management within the Pharmacy Service.This Trust wide role provides expert support and specialist education and training to clinical colleagues of which will embrace both medicines management and nursing management to improve the care of patients within clinical fields.The post holder will lead clinical audits related to this field of practice and support research projects undertaking audit, review, and appropriate service development practices.The post holder will be proactive in the development of safe and efficient systems of practice for the Trust in relation to medication safety, taking account of Trust strategy and policy, national recommendations, and published research. The post holder will be an easily identifiable and highly visible presence on the wards, who is a resource/link between medical, nursing, pharmacy, and other clinical staff.This post is for cross site working.
  • Provide highly specialised advice concerning the care and treatment of identified groups or categories of patients/clients to the multi-disciplinary team as required by possessing highly developed specialist knowledge, underpinned by theory and nursing experience.
  • Develops and contributes to strategies designed to promote and improve health and prevent disease within the specific field of medicines management.
  • Identify any resources required to meet patient needs or that impact on pharmacy staff or drug costs.
  • Audit and evaluate care in relation to the medicines management and drug treatments.
  • Manage own workload in collaboration with the Chief Pharmacist, Pharmacy staff, Consultant colleagues and nursing staff.
