This is an opportunity for a Lead Java Developer to join a leading SAAS platform that provides video selling services to the biggest names in retail globally. A position has become available to work as a Lead Java Developer as part of their development team. This is a critical hire for the organisation and the right candidate will be able to rapidly make their impact felt in one of the fastest growing UK technology companies. Development teams are remote and therefore the ideal candidate will relish working with international teams rather than seeing them as a hindrance. What will you experience in this opportunity? Essential Skills and Experience: Design and development experience of high traffic and scalable web applications using Java 8+ and Spring. Exceptional problem solving and design skills. Kubernetes/Docker Kinesis/Kafka RDBMS and No SQL Integration and Unit testing. Leading in-house and offshore agile teams. RESTful web services Agile (Scrum/Kanban/XP) Strong communication skills for technical and non-technical audiences Key Accountabilities/Responsibilities: This is a hands-on development role where you will be designing and developing scalable product features. Contribute to strategic architecture reviews. Propose, engage in and deliver R&D spikes to try out new concepts to ensure that the platform remains leading edge. * Leading the day-to-day activities of the platform engineering team.

Working closely with the CTO, CIO and the Product team to deliver projects on time and on budget. Proactively identifying technical debt (including 3rd party asset reviews and upgrades), areas for platform optimisation and develop operational efficiencies. Reviewing development practices to ensure development teams adhere to the defined architecture direction and principles, including reusability, scalability, and supportability. Providing hands-on development support as required and hands on development of strategically important projects.
