The Eastbourne Product Company serves all five Vacuum Technique Divisions: Scientific, Industrial vacuum, Semicon, Semicon Service, Vacuum Technique Service.

Eastbourne specialises in the design and manufacture of Electronic Controllers, Drives and Instruments for use within the company’s vacuum products.


We are looking to appoint a Lead Technical Product Support Engineerto work alongside the existing team.


Please note this is not an ITTechnical Support role, this is an EngineeringTechnical Product Support role.


The role involves providing engineering technical support for PC Eastbourne operations as well as support for field issues for Semicon, Scientific Vacuum and Industrial Vacuum divisions.

Main Tasks:

  • Investigate issues with both production and field returned products producing 8D reports where required.
  • Provide advice on and testing of replacement parts to cover obsolescence on existing products.
  • Resolve Customer, Sales and Service Teams’ product application enquiries and issues, obtaining appropriate support from local Technical specialists.
  • Liaise with auditors from certification agencies during factory audits.
  • Ensure that lessons are learned from investigations, recorded and fed back to development team.
  • Build prototype test and measurement equipment as required.
  • Carry out and report on evaluation and compliance testing to EN Standards for new and existing products.


Qualifications/Education/Certifications:


Electronic Engineering degree or equivalent. HNC/HND + demonstrated experience may also qualify.


Skills & Experience:

Essential:

  • A minimum of 5 years’ experience in a similar role with exposure to a broad range of digital and analogue circuit types – small signal to power electronics.
  • 3 years People Management experience
  • General knowledge of electronic component types and familiarity with digital and analogue circuit schematic designs and operation.


Desirable:

  • Familiarity with using a broad range of test equipment: e.g. multi-meters, oscilloscopes, logic analysers
  • EMC measurements.
  • Methodical approach to fault diagnosis.
  • Ability to ’bread-board’ simple test-boxes and evaluate circuits.
  • Able to use MS Office and other PC based software to communicate problems, analysis & test results, containment and corrective actions etc.
  • Must be motivated and manage time to provide timely solutions.
  • Must have good communications skills (verbal and written) and be a team-player.
