The Learning & Development department seeks to provide proactive education and development for all colleagues at RCHT by using a range of different educational methods. We are looking to recruit two lead educators into our team who can embrace RCHT’s learning needs using a wide spectrum of educational activities in both clinical, virtual and classroom settings. Both posts contribute to the overall leadership and management of the whole team and its functions as well as having a specific area of expertisePost 1 – Team based Leadership and support of pre-registration learners in practice including placement development and healthcare support worker development (22.5 hours per week)Post 2 – Leadership of clinical skills training and development and of statutory/essential training delivery (up to 37.5 hours per week)Applicants will need to possess significant experience of acute care and demonstrate a range of skills that support others to learn and develop their careersYou will also need to have flexibility to provide training, support and development in a range of different subject areas in both individual and group settings.We actively encourage the L&D team to maintain clinical credibility and expect team members to participate in either a regular clinical commitment and/or clinically based teaching/support of learners and colleagues.Leadership of the provision of specific aspects of learning and development. This may include delivery of partnership modules, support of pre registration students and other learners, leadership and management training, statutory/essential trining and clinical skills developmentOperational leadership and management of specific educational requirementsLead workstreams for both quality improvement and financial value with regards to educational activities at RCHTParticipation in the joint leadership of the learning & development department with specific line management responsibilitiesIn conjunction with other educators, ensure that pre registration students and all learners are fully supported in practice with appropriate mentorship and supervisionLiaise with the relevant Higher Education Institute(s) and external bodies such as NHS England to ensure that RCHT meets learning requirements and participates in developmentLiaise and collaborate with external agencies and other organisations to promote the development of education within the Integrated Care SystemRoyal Cornwall Hospitals NHS Trust is the biggest provider of healthcare services in Cornwall and the Isles of Scilly.
