Our client provides integrated control system solutions for the food and beverage industry. They specialise in the design and supply of turnkey software, hardware, installation and commission packages, all of which are tailored to their clients’ specific needs.

The Lead Automation Engineer will be based out of our client’s Peterborough office and will take responsibility for leading assigned turnkey projects, including developing a solution from concept to execution and with cost and quality responsibilities. The demands of this job are tough. Long hours, high expectations and travel with the need to spend time away from home when required. It will be your role to ensure that assigned projects both in-house and on-site are managed and organised in a cost effective and safe manner ensuring complete customer satisfaction. Key accountabilities will include but will not be limited to the management and implementation of customer orders consisting of design, code, test, installation & commissioning; implementing contract management policies and procedures to ensure the Profit contribution of contracts is achieved and bettered if possible; cost control and the leadership and management of a small team during projects.

A graduate Engineer or qualified by relevant experience it is likely that you have considerable experience in managing projects within automation, ideally within the food and/or beverage sector. With a broad Automation Engineering background, you will be capable of using your process background to conceptualise, develop and review designs as necessary. You will also be able to demonstrate where and how you have been involved in delivering complex engineered projects profitably.
