Wessex Lodge are located in Whitechurch in the borough of Basingstoke and Deane in Hampshire, England. It is on the River Test, not far from Newbury, or Berkshire. Much of the town is a Conservation Area. Because of the amount of wildlife in and near the River Test, its course and banks are designated as Site of Special Scientific Interest. Whitchurch is the Gateway to the North Wessex Downs Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty.
Wessex Lodge offers Nursing, Residential and Dementia care for 40 people. It extends over three floors, with each of the bedrooms providing en-suite facilities, whilst some of the ground floor rooms have access via patio doors onto the substantial gardens.

As a Laundry Assistant you will be required to:
· To ensure that all residents clothing is laundered as per the washing instructions on the individual garments an returned to them
· To collect and deliver all the residents clothing to their rooms
· Launder all other washing if external laundry is not being used
· Keep laundry area clean and dust free to minimise infection control issues and risk of fire
· Identify any clothing that is not adequately marked with the residents name
· Collect and arrange all linen that is to be sent to an external laundry ready for collection
· Put away all clean linen deliveries when they arrive.
· Maintain economical use of the washers and dryers by ensuring lull loads are use whenever possible
· Cleaning of all sanitary ware using the chemicals supplied
· Clean all hard floors, taking care to leave them in a safe condition and use warning signs as appropriate
· To use all equipment safely and report and defects to a senior member of staff without delay
· Empty all waste bins on a regular basis and dispose of the contents in a safe method
· Clean mirrors and all surfaces to ensure they are dust free
· Ensure safe working practice at all times paying particular attention to trailing electric leads and wet floors
· To dispose of waste correctly
· To ensure that all chemicals are used in a way stipulated in the COSHH data sheets and that no chemicals other than those supplied by the Company are used at any time
· To ensure that all appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE) is used at all times when completing cleaning tasks
· To perform other such reasonable duties as may be required
You will also be required to:
· To attend and take an active part in staff meetings.
· To attend work reliably and punctually, wearing a clean uniform and correct footwear.
· To attend all training as required and be prepared to achieve qualifications appropriate to the role.
· To ensure that you keep yourself up to date with all policies and procedure changes
· To work in a way that ensures that neither your own Health & Safety is jeopardised or that of your colleagues
· To ensure that any issues that may arise are reported to a Line Manager without delay
· To ensure that a positive image of Hestia Care is promoted at all times and that any risks to the Hestia Care image or reputation is reported immediately.
