Laser Cutting Machine Operator

Location: Staplehurst, Kent, TN12 0DS
Salary: £12 - £13.50 p/hr, DOE
Hours: 40 hours, Monday to Friday
Contract: Full time, Permanent

Our new factory unit is due to be completed this summer which means several new roles being available for the right applicants

We have an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic individual to join our team as a Laser Operative

We are leading specialists in the design, manufacture and installation of bespoke magnetically shielded rooms, and have an expanding customer base throughout the UK, Europe, USA and Asia

With a full manufacturing facility in Staplehurst, Kent fully equipped with the latest technology we are able to provide our customers with the highest level of service and quality

All of our manufacturing processes, including heat treatment, are integrated in our production plant

About The Laser Operative Role

You will work within our laser cutting department operating our CNC controlled laser cutting unit to generate components required to meet our customers’ orders

You will also, in collaboration with our design department, aid in cutting layout to get the best usage from each sheet of metal processed

In order to be successful in this role you must have:
  • Minimum of 2 years’ experience within a machining environment
  • Experience of LVD laser cutting machines or similar
  • Produce various items from small, complex batches of components to large panels, all to high quality standards
  • Read and work from engineering drawings
  • Ability to work within a team to ensure deadlines are met
  • Be a team player and be able to work to tight deadlines

It Would Be Great If You Had
  • Experience of working within an ISO9001 quality system
  • Ability to read basic technical drawings/ detailed engineering drawings
