About The Role

We are seeking a Land Manager to join our southern division. You will be supporting the delivery of the Southern Division’s land acquisition sites with a specific focus on our south west patch.

We are open to applications from both experienced Land Managers or junior, motivated Land professionals who are interested in a career within the Retirement Living sector.

Key Responsibilities
  • Be fully aware of the land acquisition budgets for the Division in terms of numbers of sites, units and timelines for the delivery of board packs.
  • Conduct land acquisition negotiations on behalf of the Company.
  • Adhere to Company standard practices and procedures for land acquisition and ensure site selection is in accordance with the defined criteria within the Land Guide.
  • Be fully conversant with and follow the Land Department processes and procedures in order to compile board pack submissions.
  • Be fully aware of the role of other Departments within the Company and work with them closely to ensure that projects run smoothly, accurately and efficiently.
  • Be fully aware of the Fusion project management process.
  • Work closely with the Land Technician to ensure that all communication and documentation is properly managed.
  • Develop and maintain contacts strong positive links with agents, local authorities and landowners.
  • Recommend to the Divisional Land Director ways to promote land purchase and to notify them of any major events in the region such as conferences, exhibitions, public meetings etc. which may be vehicles for promoting the company’s land purchase programme.
  • Accurately and professionally report Land Pipeline updates at the weekly Launch Meeting
  • Instruct, examine and approve all information submitted in support of any site purchase. Check all detail and correspondence and send copies as appropriate to the Director.
  • Instruct the company’s solicitors on all land purchases within the designated area of the Division.
  • Ensure that all relevant correspondence is sent out, as appropriate, for every land transaction.

About You

Education and Qualifications
  • ’A’ level standard or equivalent.
  • An MRICS, or MRTPI or similar qualification preferred.
  • CSCS Visitor Card preferred.

Knowledge& Experience,
  • Advanced negotiation skills are essential.
  • Extensive practical experience, also having held a similar post.

  • Excellent relationship management skills: calm under pressure including during interaction with internal and external stakeholders.
  • Able to work effectively with minimal supervision, with good decision-making capability.
  • Enthusiastic, honest, tactful. A positive influence on others.
  • Proficient in using the Microsoft Office suite including Teams, Excel, Powerpoint, Word and Outlook.
  • Strong understanding of the need to maintain confidentiality about all Company and role-related information.
  • Able to maintain composure and operate effectively in a pressurised environment.
  • Able to operate in and encourage others to support an environment of continuous improvement.
  • Able to travel extensively to fulfil needs of the role.
