  • As a Lab Support Engineer based at our Peterborough Campus, you will engage in challenging work, solving real-world engineering problems through collaboration with our global team
  • You will be responsible for the successful implementation and deployment of new requirements, features, improvements, and bug fixes within our test automation platforms
  • You will help develop our test solutions to provide a robust, maintainable, and cutting-edge platform that works for all our customers’ needs
  • You will work closely within a global team comprised of Product Owners, Software Architects, System Integration Engineers, Automation Developers and Testers
  • You will have the opportunity to work with a range of industry leading Automation and Data Acquisition tools including products from leading automotive suppliers such as FEV (Morphee), AVL (Lynx, Puma) and Vector (CANape)

Essential Skills And Experience
  • Passion for automation and commitment to learn/grow capability within the field of automation development
  • Bachelor’s degree in one of the below disciplines (or similar) or equivalent relevant work-related experience
    • Electrical/Electronic Engineering
    • Mechatronic and/or Robotic Engineering
    • Software Development / Engineering
    • Computer Science / Engineering
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills including ability to troubleshoot system interaction issues, identify root causes and develop appropriate solutions
  • Strong communication, interpersonal and collaboration skills
  • Strong technical understanding of Electrical, Electronic or Automation systems
  • Some experience with scripting and/or coding in one or more language (Python, C, C++, C#, PowerShell, Batch-script, Bash etc.) and an appetite to further develop scripting and coding ability within the role (with training, Coaching and support!)
Desirable Skills And Experience
  • Software Development Experience
    • Object Orientated Programming concepts
    • Software Development Processes such as Agile/Waterfall or similar
    • Development Tools such as Visual Studio, GIT, DevOps or similar
  • Experience with automotive test automation platforms and measurement tools
    • FEV Morphee, AVL Puma, NI Labview or similar
    • Vector CANoe/CANalyzer/CANape or similar
  • Experience working with Engines/Transmissions/Vehicle Electrification Components and Technologies
  • Experience with data analysis tools such as NI-DIAdem or AVL Concerto
