Overview

Element has an opportunity for a Laboratory Workshop Engineer to join our growing team in Wednesbury. This is a great opportunity to develop your engineering career within a global TIC business. Element exists to help make certain that the materials, products and processes that we test, inspect and certify for our customers are always safe, quality, compliant and fit for purpose.

Responsibilities
  • Working in a testing laboratory manufacturing and supporting the test team with rig/fixture builds
  • Manufacture, install and support in the commissioning of new equipment
  • Maintenance and proactive improvements for existing test equipment, including cosmetic improvements
  • Installation of test samples onto test rigs
  • Assist in the calibration of test equipment when required
  • Assist test engineers in performing testing when required

Skills / Qualifications
  • Experience of operating workshop machinery and tools
  • Laboratory/quality control experience preferred but not essential
  • Good practical and analytical skills
  • An inquisitive approach to product engineering and testing
  • The ability to develop strong working relationships at all levels, both with colleagues and clients
  • The ability to work to tight deadlines
