Laboratory Technician with previous experience of working in a laboratory environment and an understanding of scientific principles and terminology is required to be part of the bigger picture (pardon the pun!) and join our team at Harman Technology at our historic manufacturing site in beautiful Cheshire surroundings.

SALARY: £24,047- £25,460 + Benefits (inflation increase due January)

LOCATION: Knutsford, Cheshire, North West England

JOB TYPE: Full-time, Permanent

JOB OVERVIEW

To support our ambitious strategy of growth and regeneration through product development, we want to ensure we have the right skills in place for the future and we want to ensure a thorough transfer of specialist knowledge from our experienced staff. With these aims in mind, we are looking to recruit a Laboratory Technician to join our expanding R&D department.

In this role as the Laboratory Technician, you will carry out lab work and operate pilot equipment, help develop and improve the company’s products, processes, and technical knowledge.

As the Laboratory Technician you will also prepare and coat emulsion test coatings in a timely manner that helps to support production coating plans. In addition, you will assist in the design of experimental investigations and communicate the results in both written and oral form.

CANDIDATE REQUIREMENTS

As the Laboratory Technician you will have the following qualifications, skills and attributes:

An A level (grade C and above) or BTEC in Chemistry (or equivalent) or proven experience of working in a laboratory environment

A proven understanding of scientific principles and terminology and of laboratory standards

A proven ability to use a wide range of laboratory techniques, including measurement and testing

Will be able to work well independently and as part of a team

Due to the nature of our business, you would also need to be able to work in safelight conditions and total darkness
