Envirolab, a member of RSK Group Ltd, is an analytical laboratory with an outstanding track record for delivering analysis competitively and on time. The company provides environmental analytical services predominately of soil and groundwater samples. We have an exciting opportunity for aLaboratory Technician to join our team in Hyde, Greater Manchester.Key Responsibilities:
  • Carry out technical work in accordance with Envirolab procedures, when training record reflects competency.
  • Carry out project work in priority order ensuring holding times are not breached.
  • Ensure all work completed is according to UKAS and Envirolab QMS requirements.
  • Calibration of all laboratory equipment at the required frequency.
  • Work within the confines of Envirolab’s safety policy paying due regard to the requirements for PPE at all times.
  • Stock control for laboratory consumables, including assisting with deliveries.
  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in the laboratory.
  • Train and assess other staff in Envirolab procedures.
  • Report any anomalies to the Laboratory Supervisor.
  • Carry out sample disposal and washing of laboratory equipment.
  • Assist with completion of anomaly forms.
  • To recommend changes in all procedures or working practices where there are either errors or where habitual problems occur.
  • Carry out regular SHEMS inspections.
  • Any other duties deemed reasonable for this position.
Desired experience:No previous chemistry or laboratory experience is required for this role. We are interested in hearing from candidates that are familiar with working in a process driven environment, are comfortable working off order lists and don’t mind getting their hands dirty.

Salary and benefits:
  • Salary £21,674 per annum
  • This is a full time post working 7am – 3.30pm
