We are looking for an enthusiastic Label Room Operatives to join us in order to enhance our QA team.

The Avocado Company, based at our newly invested Ripening Centre of Excellence in Paddock Wood and with grower partners around the world, is an established and growth hungry business, supplying the best quality avocados to retail, wholesale and foodservice customers in the UK and overseas.

So, why work for us?

Every piece of packaged fresh produce that leaves our building has an information label attached to it, explaining vital details such as the sell-by date, country of origin, product variety and the details of the farmer who has grown it for us. Of course, it is absolutely essential that every piece of this information is 100% accurate so that end consumers are aware of the product specification. In order for us to effectively do this, we have a dedicated Label Room team produce these labels for our production team, ready to apply to the product packaging.

We are now looking for an enthusiastic Label Room Operative to join our busy team. You will be responsible for receiving label orders which would specify the precise criteria to be printed onto our customers’ label templates. Once you have checked every piece of information against a specification to ensure that it is accurate, you would then be responsible for preparing and printing the correct quantity of labels.

As attention to detail is the key factor, this position comes with an extremely high level of responsibility, and as a result, we are looking for an eagle-eyed candidate with the ability to manage the expectations of our production team, whilst demonstrating fantastic levels of customer service.

  • The ability to interact with key stakeholders, whilst managing expectations and providing a high level of customer service.
  • Experience in using all MS Office packages.

What Else We Can Offer You

  • 25 days holiday per annum plus 8 days bank holidays.
  • Pension scheme.
  • Flu Vouchers.

  • Employee Assistance Program – a 24/7 helpline to support you through any of life’s issues or problems, including health, financial, family, addictions, etc.
  • Learning and development opportunities.
  • Company Share Incentive Plan – employees may join the scheme at the next scheme renewal date once they have completed 6 months of service.
  • Cycle to Work Scheme, once you have successfully completed your probationary period, you can use the salary sacrifice scheme.
  • Imagination Library - Free books every month for children of our employees up to age 5.

The Hours You Would Work

A 5 on 2 off shift pattern of 42.5 hours per week, with start times that range from 6.00 am up to and including 2.00 pm, with weekend working on a rota basis.
