We are currently recruiting for an Lab Technician. The role holder shall be responsible for the set up of climatic, vibration and electrical tests as well as the improvement of the lab facilities and ensure the right level housekeeping. Our lab offers altitude, salt corrosion, vibration & shock, climatic, electrical testing for high voltage components including batteries… and we are in a ramp up status where opportunities for growth will be differential when compared to joining an established team. We have a team of senior engineers and technical managers able to support personal growth in mechanical, climatic, electrical and EMC fields.

Main Duties:

  • Keep the lab under 5S standards required by our Technical Manager.
  • Well experienced with tools handling, ideally with fabrication skills.
  • Set up test rigs and devices under test according to test engineer given instructions.
  • Keep a healthy stock of consumables, identify tools required along the lab ramp up, and support the Technical Manager on establishing the working processes in the lab
  • Monitor test execution, compile data, report events as described by test engineer. (This is a support role for these activities, test engineer is in charge or the right progression of the testing activities).
  • Monitor and identify correct operation of test equipment, cables and report failures.
  • Monitor lab equipment needs and report to the Laboratory Supervisor for acquisition.
  • Take immediate action and report any infringements in relation to Health and Safety.

Qualifications:

  • HNC/HND / NVQ level 4.
  • A demonstrable experience in fabrication would be preferred to the academic qualifications. (Vehicle workshop included)

Experience:

  • Ideally a period of more than 2 years a vehicle workshop or fabrication.
  • We would benefit for a well experienced technician able to offer fabrication of fixtures. However, a young dynamic individual with good hands on skill and the right attitude would be a good candidate. Especially if looking after progression towards a test engineer future in any of the areas described above.
  • Experience working with electricity would be a plus. However, training will be offered to meet internal standards in any case.
  • Dynamic, able to understand importance of deadlines but focus on ensuring quality.
