The Havering Museum is pursuing a Digitisation Strategy to increase its audience base. This will be done by putting its catalogue and archived exhibitions online and creating a virtual museum. We would also like to put educational resources online and create podcasts We are looking to form a Digitisation Team to achieve the above. Digitation Leads would be responsible for one or more areas from: - Building an Online Catalogue & Data Entry Compiling Online Exhibitions/Educational Materials Virtual Tour & Podcast Production Proof Reading/Copy Editing Materials Leads would also support Digitisation Assistants looking to develop skills with the defined areas.

Placements as Leads are only suitable for those with training and practical experience of one or more of the above. If you do not have the relevant training and practical experience, potential volunteers are advised to apply for the Digitisation Assistant role(s) which are more flexible. Ideally we are looking for individuals who can commit in the medium-long term. This role is not suitable for those seeking a short term placement

You will need good Communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team and knowledge and use of Microsoft Office Word Able to use and access to email Experience or training in the area(s) they are interested in volunteering as part of the digitisation team.
