At ’We Are With You’ We aim to positively and actively support volunteers to become an integrated part of our vibrant and passionate team. We work with individuals to support them in their recovery from addiction. This is often through community engagement, multi agency working as well as face to face and telephone appointments. This can be a very challenging but equally rewarding opportunity to help support people of our community.

Volunteers, aged 18 plus, of all backgrounds are welcome and are valued as much for their life experiences and for the qualifications they hold. All volunteers will need listening skills, the ability to maintain confidentiality and have a commitment to supporting those experiencing difficulties arising from their substance use. Perhaps you’re looking to pursue a career in the substance misuse field to gain experience in supporting service users, it may form part of your studies; or you might like to ’give something back’ due to your own personal experience.

All volunteers will be provided with appropriate training to help with the role, this is around company polices, confidentiality, professional boundaries, equality and diversity along with understanding psychosocial interventions and knowledge around addictions and associated risks and safeguarding. These are offered through on the job learning, face to face lessons as well as electronic learning. Out of pocket expenses will be reimbursed
