Overview

Join learning disability Brandon Trust as a Project Coordinator in North Somerset . Based in Clevedon, you’ll lead a team of project leaders and dedicated staff who support up to 25 individuals between the ages of 14 and 25. This is an exciting opportunity to lead on developing pathways to adulthood, researching and exploring choice within the local market and creating links and engaging with organisations and activity providers in the community. You will be involved in planning support for new referrals and ensuring that each person has a person-centred transition plan to take them into adulthood.

Brandon exists to enable children, young people and adults with a learning disability, autism or both, to live life in the way they choose. We provide high-quality, individualised support to around 1,600 people and have a staff team of over 2,000.

About The Role

You’ll plan and manage rotas for the projects, speak with parents/carers, ensure staff are up-to-date with training and observations, and seek and onboard new referrals to grow the service.

You’ll ensure compliance with Ofsted/CQC regulations and our policies and procedures and you’ll lead on communication with stakeholders such as families, social workers and commissioners. You will also take charge of recruiting extra staff as and when required.

At times you will lead the holiday clubs, including planning sessions for the schemes to ensure we have fun based activities for the young people to enjoy. This will include home visits to the families to set up new young people attending the schemes. You’ll process referrals, co-ordinate and update the paperwork for the young people, lead the staff team including conducting observations and also look at ways of developing the services. You’ll also take a lead in coordinating the sourcing of the correct staffing.

You’ll provide leadership and day-to-day support to your team of support workers through coaching, performance management. You’ll need a flexible approach, as some of your work will directly support individuals the role includes some weekend and evening shifts.

About You

You’ll have experience of managing projects for children and young people and of working with children and young people with learning disabilities. You’ll have Level 2 Maths and English qualifications (or be able to demonstrate this capacity through assessment).

With experience of managing a team or project you have good organisational and communication skills. You’re able to meet deadlines and manage your time effectively and are calm and approachable. You’re also reliable and have a flexible approach to work. Enthusiastic and creative in your approach, you can provide leadership and motivation to your teams.

You’ll need a full driving licence and be willing to use your own transport (mileage will be paid).

The role will include some evenings to do home visits to families and there may be a need for some weekend working.
