The role of the Medicines Optimisation Team is to support patients in taking their medicines safely and effectively. The aim of the service is to improve patient outcomes by optimising medicines use. A member of the team may visit the patient to undertake an assessment and agree resolutions to the medication problems highlighted in conjunction with other healthcare professionals involved in their care.

The Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians are also available to healthcare professionals for advice on specific patient medication issues, particularly for complex patients. The team operates across the BNSSG geography and supports all areas of the organisation.

We are seeking an Administrator to support the Pharmacists and Pharmacy Technicians within the Medicines Optimisation Team. They will provide administration support which will enable the pharmacists and pharmacy technicians to carry out their roles effectively.

The successful applicant will be based at Castlewood in Clevedon, although it will be possible to work some of the hours from home. It may be necessary to occasionally travel to another base within BNSSG e.g. support someone new to prescription management and travel expenses will be reimbursed. The hours available would ideally be split over 3-5 days (Mon-Fri) and may suit someone looking to work during school hours. There is currently no requirement to work weekends or bank holidays.
