Job description
Hours: 29.6hours per week
Contract: Fixed term for 9-12 months, or until the postholder’s return, if earlier

The Public Health Team in North Somerset Council is looking for an enthusiastic, organised, and adaptable team member to provide administrative support and coordination to a number priority public health programme areas (specifically early years and infant feeding / breastfeeding, mental health and smoking cessation). We are particularly interested in hearing from individuals who have previous knowledge and experience working and/or volunteering across any of these topic areas.

Experience and confidence in using social media, telephone and web-based / video communication methods are essential. Experience of coordinating and administrating training and events is also desirable.

This is an interesting and varied role with opportunities to gain widespread experience of working in a local authority public health team.

The role is for a fixed term contract for 9-12 months to cover a staff member on secondment.

The post is advertised at 29.6 hours per week however applicants wanting fewer weekly hours may be considered.

This post is exempt under the provisions of the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act (Exceptions) Order 1975 and is subject to an enhanced Disclosure and Barring Service check.
