Downing College is seeking a Kitchen Porter to join its friendly Catering team who prepare and serve a range of high quality food, including fine dining, to the College community and commercial guests. This varied role includes cleaning kitchen items, maintaining the cleanliness of kitchen related areas, disposing of waste, and recycling.

Based in a stunning environment in central Cambridge, the College offers a great workplace, comprehensive training, and opportunities for career progression. Hours of work include a mix of shifts over a seven day rota. Staff are expected to take some of their holidays during the Christmas closure which extends into the New Year.

Founded in 1800, Downing College in the University of Cambridge has a unique and magnificent setting among twenty acres of lawns and trees, yet is located in the centre of Cambridge. Details of the role
The post of Kitchen Porter is a permanent full- or part- time role. Applications are invited from suitably experienced candidates.

Hours of work are on a two week rota, covering early, middle and late shifts both weekdays and weekends. The annual salary is £18,614 per annum for 37.5 hours per week (step 17 on the College Salary Scale). In addition to the salary, we offer an attractive benefits package including:
