The role of a Kitchen Porter is key to support our Chefs and Food Service Teams, and ultimately the smooth running of the kitchens. You must be an efficient worker and self-motivated team player.

Role Responsibility

  • To undertake the appropriate cleaning and housekeeping of all kitchen equipment, utensils and serving equipment using hand washing methods and dishwashing machines
  • Helping with deliveries – ensuring all collections of order’s and stock are maintained to the necessary handling methods, storage and temperature checks
  • Taking the responsibility for maintaining the cleanliness of our kitchen and Restaurant – to include general cleaning duties, washing of all food preparation areas including the pot / plate wash, tables, utensils, fridges and floors
  • Reporting of any incidents of accidents, fire, theft, loss, damage, unfit food or any other such irregularity to the Catering Manage or Head Chef immediately.
  • To adhere to all company statutory regulations pertaining to safe and hygienic working practices in the kitchen and all other catering areas.
  • To attend any training courses and meetings as requested by the Manager. To report any customer or client comments or complaints to the Catering Manager or the Food Quality and Production Manager
  • To carry out any reasonable request from any member of the Management Team and Shift Leader.
  • To assist in any out of hours Special Functions as requested by the Head Chef/Management.

  • To ensure all produce, stock, kitchen equipment and sections adhere to HACCP and Sodexo standards
  • To ensure all produce, stock, kitchen equipment and sections achieves the required service times.
  • To ensure that kitchen, plate-wash and restaurant area are always cleaned to the highest standard.
