Feast own and operate a fleet of 20 refrigerated and heated sandwich vans across the Midlands. We serve approximately 18,000 repeat customers each week and employ over 45 employees.

As we are getting busier we are looking to expand our current kitchen team and are looking for a full time Kitchen assistant.

Please note we are based between Droitwich and Kidderminster with no public transport routes so own transport is essential to get to our depot.

The role

We are looking for an experiencedKitchen Assistant to work 5 out of the 6 days between Sunday to Friday with varying start and finish times between 5am and 3.30pm

Anyone who has worked in a food preparation or food manufacturing environment - we would urge you to apply.

This is fast paced, repetitive work and attention to detail is key - the work environment is a friendly and lively one....however it is a physical and fast paced role.

This is a great job – it offers:

Super working hours – day time shift patterns only.

We close for over a week at Xmas!

Typical daily tasks and responsibilities -

· Production of hot breaded items (Breakfast sandwiches/ciabattas/burgers etc)

· Seal food items using hot sealer, and label to correctly identify product and expiry date

· Production of cold food

· Production of Pasties on production line

· Production of cakes and tarts

· Pastry production (we make thousands of our own pasties each week)

· Battering of chicken and sausages

· Putting away deliveries – maximum weight of 25kg

· Access to chiller and freezer

· Use of deck oven and fryers

· Washing up and thorough clean down of kitchen including fryers and crates

· Picking ambient kits for drivers to load onto their vans

· Scanning stock returns into stock control system

· Date rotation of stock

Between the team working together these will be the jobs that get completed on a daily basis.

What do you need to do this job?

· Work hard and be 100% reliable

· Physically fit - able to lift heavy trays and be on your feet all day

· Be flexible in attitude and adaptable to tasks and people.

· Be a strong team player

· Demonstrate ownership of your responsibilities.

· Be honest and open in your approach to work relationships.

· Possess full command of the English language and some numeracy, both written and spoken.

· Basic computer knowledge.
