Specialised Respiratory Key Account Manager

GSK have a role for a specialised respiratory Key Account Managercovering the Midlands on a full time basis.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a results focused professional with strong business acumen and specialised respiratory / biologics experience to drive the commercial success of our product. You will be part of a high performing team who are committed to supporting patients with severe eosinophilic asthma to access biologic medicines.

As the Key Account Manager you will be accountable for differentiating our product to make it the preferred treatment option for severe eosinophilic asthma patients and ensuring patient access through integration into local/regional services.

Key Responsibilities will be:

Account Management

  • Drive uptake of our product in key hospital accounts and uncover key insights to identify account and customer needs and tailor appropriate approaches. Feedback relevant intelligence to support central planning and future activities e.g. evidence generation, development of tools, launch readiness for future indications. Understand central reimbursement and commissioning decisions and how these impact specific accounts; including guidance from NICE, NHSE, SMC.
  • Build trust and relationships with all the relevant stakeholders across multiple care settings to develop areas of mutual interest. Priority customers – Decision Makers in hub and spoke centres (Consultant, Specialist Nurse, Pharmacist) and local budget holders (e.g NHSE). Understand the impact of individual customers and their interdependencies and utilise this knowledge to drive appropriate actions that are business savvy, to deliver on the account plan
  • Tailor appropriate solutions to identified barriers to patient access to deliver value to the patient, customer and GSK.
  • Demonstrate measurable progress against account plans, in line with GSK policy, using clearly defined KPIs e.g. proposals on investment decisions, budget management across projects, delivery against project milestones

Clinical Differentiation

  • Clearly communicate the clinical data to customers, articulating the benefits for patients, and system/NHS benefits where appropriate, to move them along the customer journey
  • Confidently draw on medical, MSL, market access and Health Outcomes colleagues, to support queries and other customer needs, coordinating their activity to deliver on account plans
  • Develop and mobilize External Expert (EE) endorsement and positive opinion to build advocacy amongst other EEs across multiple accounts

Service

  • Map the service pathway to identify barriers & pinch points to initiating and maintaining biologics treatment.
  • Understand and map patient pathways for local areas to identify ways to optimise the patient experience (e.g. supporting adherence, patient understanding of their medicine)

Basic qualifications:

  • Current ABPI certification
  • Bachelors Degree
  • Expertise and demonstrated skills in account management
  • Experience of covering this geography previously
  • Preferred qualifications:
  • NHS knowledge and understanding of specialised commissioning and key policies
  • Proven ability to work across boundaries with highly specialised external experts and internal stakeholders
  • Ability to communicate complex ideas in a simple way
  • Project Management skills, including the ability to implement, monitor and review projects
  • Interpersonal, communication and influencing skills – both internal and external
  • Demonstrated ability to analyse and assimilate data

Preferred qualifications:

  • Ideally experience working in a specialised disease area (specialised respiratory and/or biologics) or relevant alternative therapeutic areas.
