We are looking for a Key Account Manager to join us in the Customer Services Rail Infrastructure business. In this Key Account Management position reporting directly to the Operations Manager of Customer Services, you will be working closely with all disciplines within the Customer Services team and the wider business to ensure successful account management and business generation from new and existing markets within your allocated regions. You will be responsible for the business development and sales growth across the portfolio with principal focus on digital services opportunities.

Being the strategic bridge between the Customer and the Customer Services team, this role carries both the opportunity and the responsibility to communicate the Siemens vision and develop the relationships that have been established. Deepening and strengthening these relationships to build significant mutual value.

This is your role

Key responsibilities of the role will include:

  • Strategically leading the commercial performance of key accounts; actively unlocking and maximising sustainable growth
  • Account management responsibility for key customer accounts for Siemens Customer Services, such as London Underground
  • Retain and nurture your key relationships over time. Ideally, you ensure we become a strategic partner and trusted advisor to the customer, discovering new opportunities to work together for mutual benefit
  • Develop and lead effective customer relationship management plans for all allocated customers, ensuring strategic messages are routed through the right channels
  • Fostering authentic relationships with customers from the earliest stages of business development, through proposal generation and through to contract award, to grow overall customer satisfaction as well as revenues from key accounts
  • Definition and implementation of innovative, winning strategies to position the organisation to secure new business well in advance of the procurement process, including developing innovative market and specific project capture plans
  • Identifying new digital business opportunities and growing digital services offerings in line with global initiatives
  • Drive market and competitor analysis activities across their customers within the business
This role will require the successful candidate to be mobile and to spend time away from the agreed ‘base’ office.

  • Ability to negotiate and build best in class relationships with our customers
  • Experience of delivering sales opportunities to a target
  • Confident and commercially savvy – you must feel comfortable interacting with internal and external stakeholders at varying levels and apply business commercial acumen to your thinking
  • A team player – willing to go the extra mile to help others and be collaborative with your approach.
  • Good attention to detail & communication skills
  • A conscientious, motivated and values driven individual
  • A proactive problem solver & willing to assist in other areas of the teams where required
  • Strengths in analysis, planning and forecasting
