Job Description

Purpose of Position

This role is an excellent opportunity to develop upon the skills required for a National Account Management role and would suit an individual who enjoys responsibility, has a strong personality and drive to achieve results.

Key Outputs
  • To effectively support profitable sales and margin growth, in line with business objectives and overall company guidelines.
  • To proactively work to ensure all potential opportunities are explored and implemented.
  • To manage key administrative aspects of the accounts e.g. SOA tracking, New Product set up, EPOS reports, JDA vs. Forecast alignment, management of analytics data, and service level reports.
  • To implement, define and action effective account development plans (both ‘core’ range and promotional elements) that deliver sustainable growth through effective category management.
  • To ensure that Stanley Black and Decker (SBD) is recognised as a market-leading supplier and is established as the preferred Tools supplier to Amazon.
Main Responsibilities
  • To support the design and implementation of account development plans and promotional programs.
  • To effectively manage day-to-day account activity in order to deliver the desired performance.
  • To ensure effective and timely implementation of SBD initiatives and objectives.
  • To maintain high levels of awareness of market and competitor activity, customer trends and provide other team members with this feedback.
  • To support the provision of accurate sales estimates and alignment with product forecasts to maximise account service levels.
  • To maintain accurate recording of pricing accruals, Level 4 and non-contractual spend.
  • To ensure all new products are forecasted, uploaded and launch plans implemented in line with UK and Pan EU strategy.
  • To involve and support SBD Customer service, Supply and Operations functions aligning commercial activities and plans.
  • To work with marketing colleagues to maximise online impact of DeWALT Power Tools & Accessories ranged products.
  • To continually develop in-depth technical knowledge of product and marketplace.
  • To build and leverage horizontal and vertical customer relationships.
  • To utilise all analytics tools available to maximise growth opportunities both in existing ranges and new products through in-depth analysis.
  • To support in building relationships to ensure all account related activity runs smoothly.
Accountabilities
  • Achieve set sales targets and Stanley and Black and Decker’s overall business goals
  • Key account sales growth: SKU profitability, promotional net margins, overall account profitability
  • Key account performance: account penetration and distribution of new products, customer relationships
  • Cost control and monitoring of personal expenditure
  • Ongoing identification of sales driving opportunities
Education Required
  • Degree or an equivalent level of education is preferred
  • Good levels of Mathematics and English are essential
  • Driving License
Work Experience Required
  • A proven track record of over-achievement
  • A good understanding of the National/ Key accounts is preferable but not essential
  • A background in the DIY retail sector would be beneficial
  • Would suit a graduate with 1-2 years’ work experience
Skills & Knowledge Required
  • Intelligent thinker, strategic planner, focused and priority driven
  • Willingness to learn and work on own initiative
  • Excellent personal negotiation / selling skills
  • Strong motivation to achieve, well organised and structured approach
  • Excellent presentation, negotiation and selling skills, with the ability to promote and sell persuasively
  • Proficient in using Microsoft Office tools such as Word, Excel and PowerPoint
  • Good presentation skills
  • Effective communicator both internal and external to Stanley Black & Decker
