The Norfolk and Norwich University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust (NNUHFT) Digital Health team is responsible for the delivery of digital services across the Trust to support its clinical and administrative obligations.

The Department comprises of 4 main areas - Digital Hospital, Operational, Informatics & Information Governance and made up of over 50+ staff. Our aims are to provide the highest degree of digital services and support to Trust staff, the Trust’s partners, and commissioners.

We’re looking to recruit an experienced Network & Telecommunications Engineer on a full-time basis. The ideal candidate will be outgoing and a team player with drive and enthusiasm; someone who understands the value of providing outstanding customer service. Able to work proactively under pressure and deliver against individual and team Key Performance Indicators.

Experience within the Healthcare sphere is not essential; however, sound network and telecommunications (VoIP) experience is crucial.

Assists the Network Services Manager to ensure that the network infrastructure and related components deliver the intended services to users.

As Network and Telecommunications Engineer, you are responsible for the resolution of incidents, problems and service requests within agreed SLAs.

Essential:
First line support via the Service Desk with regard to network, telecommunication and related products and systems.

Call management for incidents and service requests for telecoms and network helpdesk tickets.

Responsible for daily moves, changes and installation of new data points, telephone extensions etc.

Possesses general ability to connect end user devices to network switches. Patching - using RJ45 patch cables. connection in patch panels - connectivity to and between different communications rooms - patch from panel to network switch

Provision of advice to users on telecom products, e.g, headsets, answering services, cordless handsets.

Uses network management systems software to monitor network devices.

Investigates and diagnoses network problems, working with users, other staff and suppliers as appropriate. Resolves such problems, co-operating with Technical Support team to maintain overall network performance.

Has good technical understanding and the aptitude to remain up to date with IT.

The following skills and experience will be required and are essential for the successful candidates:
  • First line support via the Service Desk with regard to network, telecommunication and related products and systems.
  • Liaison between the Trust and all support contractors with regard to faults and daily issues.
  • On-site technical support for the implementation of new systems and products.
  • Call management for incidents and service requests for telecoms and network helpdesk tickets.
  • Responsible for daily moves, changes and installation of new data points, telephone extensions etc and telephone name changes.
  • Provision of advice to users on telecom products, e.g, headsets, answering services, cordless handsets, mobile phones and pagers.
  • Assists the Network Services Manager to ensure that the network infrastructure and related components deliver the intended services to users at its optimal level.
  • Uses network management systems software and appropriate analysis equipment to collect routine network load statistics, model performance, and create reports, including proposals for improvement.
  • Investigates and diagnoses network problems, working with users, other staff and suppliers as appropriate. Resolves such problems, co-operating with Technical Support team to maintain overall network performance.
