UHNM Royal Stoke Hospital – Band 6 Junior Sister /Charge nurse (Ward 79 - Older Adults)Ward 79 is looking for a dynamic, innovative Band 6 Junior Sister/Charge Nurse, who will empower staff to develop both personally and professionally to achieve their maximum potential. You must have the dedication, passion and commitment to deliver quality nursing care to our older adult patients.The Junior Sister/Charge Nurse has delegated responsibility for the management of the clinical areas including assessment of care needs, the development, implementation and evaluation of programmes of care and the setting of standards on a shift basis and in the authorised absence of the Sister/Charge Nurse.The Junior Sister/Charge Nurse will participate in innovation and evidence based nursing practice through professional leadership and supporting the clinical team in close liaison with the Sister/Charge Nurse and the Senior Staff Nurse for Quality.The Junior Sister/Charge Nurse will act as a credible and professional role model and encourage and empower other staff to develop both personally and professionally to achieve their maximum potential. To have delegated responsibility for the operational and management issues in the authorised absence of the Sister/Charge Nurse, and take on the leadership of specific projects as agreed with the Sister/Charge NurseThe Band 6 Junior Sister/Charge Nurse will participate in the delivery of quality care to patients in the ward /department. The post holder will provide support to more senior colleagues in the nursing team, The post holder will work as a team-leader, providing support and acting as a role model to the rest of the team.The successful candidate must be well organised, reliable and have excellent communication and inter-professional skills.
