Who we are

Our purpose at Dunelm is to help our customers create the joy of truly feeling at home. We do this through our range of stylish, brilliantly crafted, great-value homewares, decorating products and furniture. Over the past year, we’ve launched new categories, are receiving great press and brilliant social engagement, and have lots of exciting launches and campaigns to plan and partnerships to talk about.

The role

We’re looking for an experienced writer and editor to join our Social & Content team to ideate, plan and create compelling content across a broad range of channels and platforms. The Social & Content team is the storytelling engine for the business, and our work lands in front of customers everywhere, from our website to eCRM, social and in store.

We’ve got heaps of great stories to tell – about categories such as paint and wallpaper, furniture for every style, space and budget, and all-new products for pets; our sub brands such as the high-end Dorma bedding range; as well as exciting collaborations like our collection designed with the Natural History Museum.

You’ll be a wordsmith with a passion for home decor and interiors, ideally with experience in the home decor category or related categories. A brilliant communicator, you’ll know how to turn a creative brief into engaging content and messaging.

You’ll work closely with the Head of Social & Content, alongside the team’s content editors and copywriters. And you’ll provide ongoing support to teams across the business, helping to inspire and upskill them with your ideas, knowledge and exceptional way with words.

You’ll be responsible for…

  • Ideating, creating and presenting copy and content in line with campaigns and business priorities
  • Crafting compelling, original, on-brand copy across a range of platforms – including web, eCRM, social, in store – ensuring it is always of the highest standards
  • Putting the customer at the heart of everything, and ensuring we’re delivering content for them and their needs, from campaigns to BAU and reactive comms
  • Briefing the in-house studio and external agencies to create content (including social-first content) and assets for use across our channels, including organic and paid social
  • Tracking success and learnings of copy and content to drive continual improvement
  • Working closely with teams within marketing and across the business to understand their needs and engaging them in our storytelling, copy and content in order to ensure 360 content approaches across all platforms
  • Being a proactive problem solver, who can suggest builds and changes to processes with a goal of creating best-in-class copy and content
  • Being an advocate for and guardian of the Dunelm brand voice; helping to coach and train teams across the business on how to write to brand voice
  • Turning product launches, new propositions, services and initiatives into relevant stories and engaging content that our customers care about

We recognise the value in diversity and welcome applications from all candidates regardless of sex, age, race, religion, ability, gender or sexual identity, socio-economic background or education.

We are committed to making Dunelm a place where everyone can enjoy a successful career and have systems in place to support all our staff.
