As a Junior Network Engineer, you will be fully immersed in managing, maintaining, designing, and implementing the latest networking solutions ensuring the core network is fully functioning with high availability at all times.Key Responsibilities
  • Managing Connexin’s networks, ensuring uptime requirements are achieved.
  • Provide technical analysis to all customers to isolate issues and develop strategies to restore or activate services within defined SLAs.
  • Provide support in the design and implementation of projects and changes to the network and security infrastructure.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement ensuring technical support processes are continuously updated and that support teams are fully trained on any changes.
  • Provide weekly reports on technical support and network activity.
  • Monitor, support and assist 1st and 2nd line support teams on all channels and products, especially with regards to technical issues which need escalation & higher-level investigations.
  • Work to document, automate and improve our processes.
  • Maintain and update documentation of the network asset and configurations.
  • Create and maintain process and procedural documentation to help the wider team diagnose and fix network issues.
  • Contribute to the successful delivery of network projects.
  • When appropriate, support the wider team with incident management and on-call activity (as directed by your line manager).
Essential Skills And Competencies
  • Strong problem solving and technical troubleshooting skills
  • Excellent understanding of Network protocols
  • Quick learner and ability to work on one’s own as well as working within a busy team
  • Ability to simplify and explain technical information to a non-technical audience
  • Capable of creating high and low-level design documentation
  • Experience with supporting client-facing solutions
  • Project management skills
  • Excellent organisation and problem-solving skills
  • A full driving licence and access to a car is a must, as you may be expected to travel to our client sites and data centres as part of this role
Essential Experience
  • Network monitoring and capacity management experience
  • Experience of network technologies such as Fixed Wireless Access, Fibre and LPWAN, including routing Protocols – Static, OSPF & BGP; VLANs; ACLs; VPNs; SNMP; and MPLS
  • Good understanding of change management process – ITIL experience desirable
