The Role:

Reporting to the head of the Music Production department and working across a multitude of preschool media brands the MPM will work alongside creative, production & post-production teams based in London and Los Angeles and will help create and execute music production pipelines.

The MPM will lead and oversee the music production management of Little Angel and Growth Brands, based in the UK, this will involve day-to-day team management and problem solving. Strong project management skills are required.

The MPM will ensure all music is produced on budget and on schedule and will coordinate with different departments to ensure delivery of the final product to Post-Production or the Label Delivery team for upload onto various platforms. The MPM will also oversee that all meta data and cue sheet processes for music pieces (songs or scores) run smoothly across the IPs.

The ideal candidate will be experienced in music production workflows, and will be comfortable overseeing multiple pipelines across different IPs, juggling responsibilities and keeping on top of various budgets. The candidate will also have a strong emphasis on leadership, organisation and attention to detail. MPM will have first-hand experience with the process of music creation, from inception through to production of final masters for media/entertainment; preferably including digital platforms such as YouTube and Spotify, music contracting, rights and cue sheets.

General Responsibilities:

  • Oversee multiple music production pipelines, tracking and ensuring delivery from music creative to the post-production and music distribution teams.
  • Building schedules and budgets to ensure delivery of quality final product.
  • Work closely with various departments (Creative, Label and Publishing, Channel Operations, Distribution, etc) to ensure music production is aligned with company deadlines and objectives.
  • Negotiate rates for composers, lyricists and singers.
  • Maintain and expand our database of composers, song writers, producers and talent, etc.
  • Work with the production and creative department to coordinate and schedule voice talent recording sessions.
  • Work with the creative department to create and publish castings.
  • Designating projects and workflows throughout the department or externally.
  • Pre-empting, planning and placing resources where needed for upcoming projects throughout the team internally and externally.
  • Ensure contracts are in place and all rights fully understood and managed.
  • Supporting music production staff with day to day tasks and problems
  • Working closely with GMs, Executive Producers and IP MDs to schedule/budget music production projects.
  • Work with the team to improve processes across all brands.
  • Work closely with the publishing and label team to ensure deliverables are met to the required standards.

Requirements

  • Experience working across music-based shows/Brands.
  • Broad network of composers, songwriters and lyricists and agency contacts in music and children’s space.
  • Good communication skills; must be articulate and professional both in written and verbal forms of communication.
  • Ability to work proactively, independently and reliably under tight timeframes in a fast-paced environment, with a high level of organization and attention to detail. Ability to time-manage across multiple deadlines is a must.
  • Highly collaborative, resourceful, curious, and calm under pressure with a good sense of humor.
  • Experience managing various music production pipelines concurrently.
  • Knowledge of Production Budgets & schedules.
  • Willingness to be flexible with ever changing production requirements

Desirable:

  • Passionate and knowledgeable about children’s entertainment, media and music.
  • A current and up to date working knowledge of DAWs (Logic, Cubase, etc) and other music industry software.
  • Any musical skill is beneficial but not essential.
