Location – Unit 1, Witney Road, Poole, Dorset
Salary - £22,000 - £28,000

The team
What is the process improvement team? The PI team is a multi-disciplined function that contains all the broad necessary skillsets for managing change. Process Improvement is not as simple as making a process faster or safer through R&D engineering or qualified purchasing, it requires planned communications, financial modelling, production experience and careful diplomacy to ensure that the proposed changes are taken positively and will be implemented.
Skills & Experience:
Ideally has an understanding of a combination of manufacturing technologies, processes & methods. Has an understanding of low & high volume production. Has an understanding of Lean methodologies & associated tools/methods and is able and willing to develop & deploy them across the business to facilitate business improvement. Able to assist in carrying out a variety of process improvement assignments and tasks to deliver the related solution to the agreed schedule in association with the help of other members of the Process improvement team. Is able & willing to develop their skills and knowledge and ultimately take on projects of their own.
Is able to work closely with all associated functions to ensure final deliverables meet project and business requirements. Is willing to continuously seek opportunities for overall Process, Product & business improvement.

- Able to exercises latitude and technical judgement in deciding the optimum method & approach to solving problems
- A willingness to seek out new opportunities for the business to reduce cost
- Good interpersonal and communication skills
- Proficient in using computer applications including google docs, MS Office etc
Responsibilities:
- Able to support our manufacturing sites to develop new processes & equipment
- Able to capture requirements to ensure all proposed solutions meet the expected outcome
- Able to assist our manufacturing sites with floor layouts, cell designs & automated flow lines
- Be familiar with “Process Mapping” & other lean tools, methods & practices
- Be willing to Improve manufacturing efficiency by analysing and planning workflow, space requirements and equipment layout
- Generating & presenting relevant data / documentation. Be willing to Produce written reports and make presentations
- Able to identify & propose the removal of waste from any of our processes
- Support continuous improvement, problem-solving and process improvement activities
- Investigate production and process issues providing technical support and training
- Keep up with current and developing manufacturing trends & equipment developments
- Attend various meetings and complete any assigned actions
- Undertake continuous training and development
- Comply with the Health, Safety and Environmental Policies
