Job Description


As a Junior Financial Data Analyst you will plays a crucial role in delivering positive customer outcomes.

Working closely with Finance and IT colleagues to understand requirements, complete testing and deliver solutions

Creating, using and maintaining excel based reports and models to complete finance amendment tasks.

Working with and supporting operational teams to create, use and maintain excel models enabling the completion of account adjustments needed to resolve customer complaints, provide support and forbearance or completion of customer remediation.

Committed to delivering high-quality customer service, through ensuring accurate and timely delivery, and working within defined policies and procedures.

Key accountabilities:

  • Creating, using and maintaining excel based models and reports. Developing complex formulas and working with extensive, detail excel spreadsheets.
  • Completion of complex calculations using Excel models on individual and groups of customer accounts.
  • Support the completion of impact analysis and resolution of incidents and breaches
  • Investigation of customer accounts and interest based calculations to support resolution of complaints and incidents
  • Processing and analysing large volume data
  • Review and process requests for adjustments to customer accounts
  • Supporting testing of new customer account management tools/features.
  • Periodically test and maintain existing and new financial calculators/models.
  • Identifying and implementing potential process improvements to increase efficiency
  • Being the first point of contact for internal stakeholders to act as a subject matter expert
  • Supporting and upskilling colleagues in the use and creation of Excel models
  • Creation of reporting, MI and dashboards to monitor trends,, measure outcomes and workflow.
  • Building successful business relationships to encourage efficiency and understanding of the accounts adjustments processes

Essential skills and experience:

  • Knowledge of financial calculations such as the application of compound and simple interest
  • Advanced Microsoft Excel, including macros
  • Strong mathematical competency.
  • Logical thinker with excellent accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Team orientated
  • Good communication skills.
  • Experience of working in a fast paced environment
  • Experience of working in Financial Services industry
  • The willingness to always go the extra mile to deliver an excellent standard of work
  • Natural problem solving skills

Nice to have skills and experience:

  • Excel certification
  • Experience of working within secured lending

Qualifications

  • Finance Degree
