We are now looking to recruit a Junior or Graduate Engineerto work full time. This role will be based out of Swindon. Currently, we are operating remote working for many of our office-based employees and this is expected to evolve into a blended working arrangement between home and office when restrictions enable this.

JOB TITLE: JUNIOR ENGINEER/GRADUATE ENGINEER (WASTEWATER AND POLLUTION)

Responsibilities

Within WRc, you?will be responsible for working collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team on?delivering innovative solutions to the water industry.?The ideal candidate will have a background in an engineering subject, ideally, with some experience of wastewater network operations. In the role you will be tasked with conducting desk studies and research to improve operations of wastewater assets and networks, asset rehabilitation practices and maintenance strategies, assisting project management and contribute to the development of engineering solutions to solve our client’s challenges. You will need to be creative and engaged and work closely with our subject matter experts to contribute turning insights into meaningful outcomes for our clients and maintain commercial awareness.

You will be required to work on all stages of the projects’ lifecycle and as part of our vibrant consultancy business, you will work on a range of diverse projects, ensuring that you will be intellectually and technically challenged.

The Specific Tasks Are As Follows
  • Collaborate with a multi-disciplinary team of subject matter experts
  • Identify and contribute to the development of solutions to improve asset and network performance
  • Support the formulation of technical proposals and development of project ideas.
  • Take account of the latest developments and innovations in the subject area, to help maintain WRc’s position as an industry leader.

Person Specification

Either educated to degree level or higher in a relevant subject, ideally from either a civil engineering, mechanical engineering or environmental or scientific background or with a relevant engineering qualification from further education. The successful candidate will be a self-starter and have a positive attitude and desire to learn coupled with a curious mindset and ability to understand and interpret complex datasets. A good working knowledge of MS Office and excellent written and communication skills is required. An appreciation of the UK water industry is desirable, along with an understanding of wastewater and pollution. Must be eligible to work in the UK.
