Role Purpose:

Working within the creative team, on a wide variety of projects, producing high quality designs which fully meet the brief and are commercially viable. Under supervision, the role will involve development of existing ranges as well as the opportunity to develop new ideas. In this role, you should be highly creative and have a sharp eye for details.

Role responsibilities:

  • The designer is responsible for design execution, refinement and preparation of art for reproduction.
  • Flexible enough to work with different styles, both contemporary and traditional, hand drawn or painted, as well as more graphic and contemporary styles.
  • Awareness of the latest design, fashion and lifestyle trends and ability to translate these into exciting new greetings cards tailored to our customers.
  • Other aspects of the role will include creating finishes for greetings cards, formatting, typesetting, colour palette interpretation and typography design.
  • The Designer will be required to consistently meet all project and task deadlines as assigned and will proactively prioritise assignments with minimal supervision and coordinate deadlines.

Working Arrangements:

  • Based at Clintons Creative Studios in Corby, Northamptonshire
  • Occasional ad-hoc travel may be required

Role Essential Skills:

  • A degree in Art & Design related subject or equivalent is desirable but not essential.
  • With excellent Mac skills, designer should be comfortable in Adobe Photoshop and Illustrator and enjoy the technical artwork side of the creative process.
  • Ideally 1-2 years industry experience, in a creative field or similar
  • Flexibility to work with different design styles and techniques.
  • A solid understanding of design principles such as colour, typography and composition.
  • Conscientious and organised approach to work and have meticulous attention to detail.
  • Tons of enthusiasm, creativity and passion for design.
  • Ability to work in a team, as well as on own initiative. On occasion, may be expected to mentor more junior members of the team.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines and under pressure is essential
