Hours: 7am – 5pm

Salary:£25,000 - £30,000

This position offers a fantastic long-term opportunity for a Junior Design Engineer to join our client, who is an Aylesbury-based manufacturer of precision fabricated, welded, machined, and insulated components predominantly for the motorsport and automotive industries.

Junior Design Engineer Responsibilities
  • Work closely with the lead engineer and technical team to ensure all pre-production processes are handled in a timely and effective manner.
  • Aim to streamline the design side at the company over the coming years – perhaps look at more generic way to jig parts with machined bases etc.
  • Ability to design jigs, fixtures and tooling to manufacture parts
  • manipulate customer CAD files for quoting
  • Create engineering drawings for use both internally and externally.
  • Attend customer meetings to discuss their requirements and our capabilities.
  • Organised to ensure multiple jobs can be worked on at once.
  • Will be required to quote parts during busy times or holiday in technical department.
Qualifications And Experience
  • Engineering degree or relevant experience.
  • Good understanding of CAD software i.e., CATIA, Solidworks or AutoCad
  • Some experience with surface modelling, e.g., for press tool design etc.
  • Computer literate especial, Excel, Word and PowerPoint.
  • Understanding of manufacturing processes, ideally within the automotive or motorsport sectors would be beneficial
