About You

If you are looking for a role to kick-start your career in technology, this could be the perfect role for you…

  • Do you like problem solving and are committed to improving how things are done?
  • Are you organised and methodical with the ability to work under pressure?
  • Do you take pride when customers/ stakeholders are satisfied?
  • Are you an excellent communicator who enjoys working as part of a team?

Please note: this is a junior role, so you don’t necessarily need any previous experience within software delivery, although experience in IT and/or a relevant degree would be a bonus. You would be surrounded by a fantastic and knowledgeable team to support you – all you need is an eagerness to learn.

The Role

From day one, you will be a valued member of the Release team, helping us to deliver value to our customers by deploying the latest versions of our products. You’ll be learning in the role, pairing with our experienced Deployment Engineers to assist with the planning, coordination, and execution of software upgrades.

You will be working alongside other teams across the business to schedule customer work as well as working directly with our customers during early adopter testing to ensure our products meet their needs and expectations.

Our culture nurtures continuous improvement, and this role will allow you to evolve quickly and learn many new skills. That journey means working hard to improve the ease, reliability, and speed of our software deployments with our overarching goal of reducing customer downtime and reducing upgrade effort.

Future career paths within Aquila Heywood include Developer (Java), Test Analyst or Implementation Consultant.

About Us

Aquila Heywood combines a passion for software with Agile methodology to create modern software solutions for businesses, pension providers and third parties that help transform how their members manage their lifelong financial journeys.

Working for an expanding established market leader you will have a real voice to influence our evolution. Continued learning and progression is ingrained in our daily life, encouraged through a variety of ways from e-learning subscriptions and a monthly down-tools day (“Hive Day”) and communities of practice for learning and experimentation. Our open culture encourages wide participation and innovation. We also reward ourselves with regular socials, organised by our people. Socials are of course remotely for the time being, but we do have a fiercely competitive online pub quiz, games nights and much more!

We are very fortunate at Aquila Heywood to have grown our business during the global pandemic, remotely on-boarding 60 (and counting) new recruits in the last 12 months.

We are committed to a hybrid working model. We have empowered our people to determine if working from home or from the office, under the current safety provisions set out by official guidelines, suits them best; giving us all greater flexibility during this challenging time.
