Team

Global Transaction Reporting (GTR) Technology serves the global transaction regulatory reporting requirements of the firm. The regulations covered are across America, Europe, and Asia and cover OTC derivatives, listed derivatives and cash products. There are several roles available in Core GTRS, Controls and Usability. You will work within a highly focused, global development team who support critical firm functions such as Legal, Compliance and Operations. You will be part of a dynamic and collaborative team, building systems that are critical to the business and solving problems to meet the ever-changing regulatory environment. The successful candidate will also have the opportunity to contribute to improving the technology platform to help the business sustain high volume and revenue growth.

Role Profile

The Global Transaction Reporting team is looking for a java developer to join the team in Glasgow. You will be part of a global dynamic team building in-house systems that are critical to the business. Solving problems to meet the ever-changing regulatory environment.
  • You will work primarily as a Java developer as part of a collaborative agile development team.
  • You will be required to liaise directly with a variety of stakeholders throughout the firm.
  • You will develop functionality in an iterative fashion, liaising with the business analysts, product owners and other developers within the scrum team.
  • You will be responsible for continuously improving the quality of our system and codebase including code reviews and refactoring where necessary.
Required Skills
  • Core Java (minimum Java 8)
  • Experience in Domain Driven Design and micro-services
  • SQL, data-modelling and writing performant queries on Relational Databases such as DB2
  • Experience of agile and scrum methodologies
  • UNIX systems and shell scripting
  • Experience analysing and scaling systems
  • Proven problem-solving skills
  • Enterprise Architecture Patterns, GoF design
  • Build & agile - Ant, Gradle/Maven, Sonar, Jenkins/Hudson, GIT/perforce
  • Sound understanding of OOP design and SOLID principles
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
  • Highly motivated team player; accountability of delivery and ownership of change

Qualifications
Desired Skills
  • Experience working with Data warehouses or MPP databases such as Greenplum
  • Experience in banking and regulatory reporting (MIFID, SFTR, CFTC, MAS, ASIC etc.)
  • Knowledge of OTC, listed and cash products
  • Experience in defining ETL and data pipelines
  • [Team dependent] Experience of UI development (e.g. Angular, React or similar)
