Main Duties and responsibilities:
The successful applicant will be expected to:
- To undertake reception, switchboard and all postroom duties as requested by your Line
Manager to ensure all services are manned at all times.
- To be efficient and competent in all procedures with particular attention to fire
- To ensure staff, students and visitors have badges, permanent and temporary and be
its learners.
- To collect trip payments, travel claims and fees from students and operate the till.
- To be familiar with all College and Learner Services policies and procedures.
- To become fully conversant with all College courses and the live prospectus to give
study. Reception is the main point of contact for course advice and guidance after 5pm.
- Dealing with telephone enquiries and signposting customers to the correct College
- Giving initial advice to customers on a face to face basis and enquiries in person
regarding all College services and arranging for specialist advice where needed.
- To be fully familiar and up to date with the identity of all managers for signposting
- To undertake Call Centre Duties at designated times during the College main enrolment
periods – full training provided.
- Become familiar and efficient at on-line enrolment and enrolment processes for out of
- To participate in off site promotional events as requested.
- Maintain records of course enquiries, customer information including mode of contact
and pass all information to the Initial Advice & Guidance team.
- To participate in Student services and advice and guidance rota as required to meet the

appropriately within the reception and postroom area and that the areas are tidy and
well presented.
- To undertake mentoring duties of new staff members or work placement students as
requested by your line manager.
