Staffline is recruiting for a Transport Controller, working for one of our most prestigious client’s based in Birmingham.The pay is up to £24,000 per annumThis is a temporary role with the possibility to become permanent for the right candidate.You will be required to work on rotating patterns: day, afternoon and night shifts.-06:0014:00 / 14:0022:00 / 22:0006:00Also some flexibility to work additional shifts, where necessary to meet the business needs is essential. Our client is an equal opportunities employer and positively encourages applications from suitably qualified and eligible candidates from diverse communities and a variety of industry sectors.The right candidates will have the potential for career progression.Your Time at WorkYou will be responsible to ensure all deliveries and collections are undertaken within agreed time-frames; to co-ordinate the capture, processing and dispatch of orders. This will include liaison with the Customer Service, Operations and Transport Teams. Successful candidates will be responsible for administration, including recording of driver’s hours and information relating to deliveries and collections.Main accountabilities to include but not be limited to:-Provision of excellent customer serviceTo ensure all deliveries and collections are undertaken in a timely mannerLiaison with key stakeholdersDriver de-briefingTrack vehicles to ensure deliveries are completed and that all resources are being fully utilisedPreparation of Transport and customer documents - ensure compliance with standard operating procedureTo adhere to all company health and safety policies and standards of housekeepingInputting dispatch information into the systemPro-actively escalates any potential service issue to both immediate management and to the customerEnsuring all administration is up to date and accurateTo undertake any other reasonable tasks as detailed by the Management TeamOur Perfect WorkerThe ideal candidate will have the following skill base:-Sound knowledge of transport operationsGood level of IT and Office applications (e.g. Word, Excel)Basic level of literacy and numeracyGood level of geographical knowledge preferableRespectful and Demonstrates integrityPassionate and enthusiasticPrioritisation, ability to react at short noticeOrganisational skillsStrong communicatorProactive mind-setFlexible and ReliableInterviews will be held immediately.Key Information and Benefits-Earn up to £24,000 per year plus shift allowance dependant on shift patternFull time regular ongoing workThe right candidate will have the potential for career progressionAbout StafflineStaffline is the biggest recruiter in the UK and Ireland, and we believe in putting people first.
