Technical Team Leader (Archaeological Project Manager) - Archaeology WarwickshireSalary: £38,890 - £40,876
This is an excellent opportunity to join a successful commercial archaeological and heritage team and manage a portfolio of varied projects from inception to completion.
Your role
Working with a high degree of autonomy, you will manage a wide range of archaeological and heritage projects including historic building recording. This will involve preparing competitive tenders, coordinating and developing project teams, liaising with clients and ensuring projects are successfully delivered. You will be monitoring budgets and performance, managing quality and overseeing health and safety across a number of projects at the same time. You’ll also need to build strong customer and supplier relationships, and maintain our project management systems to deliver regular status reports.
At the same time, you’ll act as an in-house archaeological expert for your project teams, offering expert advice and guidance and sharing knowledge and ideas to innovate and enhance our overall service. You’ll also be one of the professional faces of Archaeology Warwickshire to academia and the public to promote our services.
Your Skills And Experience
You’ll be a highly experienced archaeologist with a background in managing British commercial archaeological projects with a thorough understanding of heritage legislation. With strong commercial archaeology knowledge, you’re used to writing competitive, profitable tenders, leading multiple projects simultaneously and producing high-quality, publishable reports.
With proven hands-on experience of a range of archaeological excavation and survey techniques, you understand post excavation technologies and dissemination formats, and have excellent written and communication. As well as an archaeology-related degree or post-graduate qualification, ideally you’ll have a recognised health and safety qualification and you will be a Member of CIfA, or committed to joining.
What We Offer
As a medium-sized team operating autonomously within a much larger organisation we have the best of both worlds. We are able to invest in our people and offer unmatched opportunities for skills and career development, whilst maintaining a friendly and supportive team spirit. With a variety of benefits, including a contributory pension, agile working and generous annual leave, you’ll find Warwickshire is a rewarding place in which to build your career.
