Following clinical and service development opportunities for Adult Neurodevelopmental Services and for Psychology and Specialist Psychological Therapies across the Trust, there has been an opening for an 8b Principle Clinical Psychologist II (0.7 wte) to work across the Adult Learning Disability Services as part of a wider team of psychologists embedded in the multi-disciplinary teams.

The successful candidate will support with the provision of clinical leadership and practice to a specialist health service for adults with a learning disability and who are neurodevelopmentally diverse and who present with concurrent mental health needs often in the context of trauma.

You will further provide specialist psychological assessment, formulation and interventions to services users and their family or carers and provide expert advice and consultation to other psychologists and non-psychologists in the service.

You will actively contribute to service development in collaboration with colleagues in related services and evaluate service provision in the context of audit/research to ensure consistent and high-quality services are provided.

Adult Learning Disability Services are positioned within the Adult Neurodevelopmental Services within the Trust and are comprised of locality based Community Support Teams (CSTs), a cross locality Intensive Support Team (IST) and service wide Forensic Support Team (FST).

There is close collaboration with the Specialist Autism Team and Autism Assessment Service in addition to working alongside partner agencies across the locality.

In addition to the psychologists working within the learning disability service, there is a strong psychology and psychological therapies department within the Trust where access to specialty meetings and Trust-wide specialist supervision and CPD opportunities are available.

The trust also encourages the participation in personal and professional development and has good links with the regional university training courses in terms of teaching opportunities, trainee selection and trainee placements.
