Our client, a leading supply chain company, are looking for an Operations Manager to join them on a permanent, full-time basis at their unit within Greater Manchester.
This is a combination of shift patterns, 6am to 2pm and 2pm to 10pm. (Monday to Friday).

Reporting to the Distribution Centre Manager, the role plays an integral part to the heart of the business, leading and managing all aspects of shift operations and shift managers within the Distribution Centre, ensuring all operations operate safely and within budget to defined targets. The role would very much suit an enthusiastic and driven Operations Manager within the industry who is looking for a fresh challenge to further progress in a fast-expanding business that has gained significant success via acquisitions and organic growth.

The successful candidate:

Must have good experience within a medium to large organisation as an Operations Manager within a logistics/distribution centre/warehouse environment

Excellent leadership skills, leads by example with the ability to manage members of the team to achieve Key Performance Indicators (KPIs) / targets

Superbly organised with the ability to effectively prioritise manage multiple conflicting deadlines, remain resilient under busy/peak periods for the business and under pressure

Comfortable in addressing and managing a variety of employee challenges that arise, including absences and performance

Strong communication, influencing and motivational skills to build robust stakeholder relationships internally and externally, ensures goals are achieved within the function

Good knowledge/familiar with health and safety regulations within a distribution centre environment

Proactive approach to work and client-focused taking into needs of the end customer

IT knowledge i.e. Microsoft Office, email software, internal systems

Analytical and problem-solving skills with strong attention to detail and the ability to understand and interpret data to bring about continuous improvement and maintain high efficiency.
