Job Title - Logistics Administrator
Salary - Up to £25,000 plus Veolia benefits *listed below
Grade - 4.1
Location - Southwark Integrated Waste Management Facility, 43 Devon Street, London, SE15 1AL
Duration: 6 month temporary position available ASAP
Hours - Full time, 40 hours per week, Monday to Friday, 8:00am to 4:30pm

What you’ll do
We have a new exciting opportunity at Southwark as a temporary position within the Logistic department as Logistics Admin.
The Logistics admin role is a central position for Southwark integrated site. You will be working alongside the Logistics team leader and supervisor, the role of which being to enable smooth movement of materials and vehicules in and out one of the busiest recycling centers in London.
You will work with multiple teams; the Veolia central Logistics team managing the hauliers, but also the on-site various department supervisors to know what is needed. Most of the administrative work will consist in updating time slots for the collection of materials out of the Material Recycling Facility (MRF), such as paper, aluminium cans, cardboard bales or loose glass loads.
In particular, the Logistics Admin will be responsible for;
  • Managing the Logistics mailbox
  • Updating time slots on the Logistics software ELEMOS
  • Creating daily recap tables to highlighted missed collection compared to schedule
  • Updating material stock data and forecasts accordingly
  • Sending the MRF monthly forecast made by local supervisors to the central logistics team
  • Attending weekly calls and updating ELEMOS based on latest requirements
  • Booking collection with local hauliers for the Transfer station, Household recycling center and Mechanical Biological Plant
  • Supporting the Logistics team with any ad-hoc projects and data admin work
The experience you will need
Essential:
  • GCSE level Maths and English or equivalent
  • Strong IT skills, knowledge of Microsoft/Google Packages
  • Good numeracy and literacy
  • Proven background in an administrative role
  • Attention to detail and ability to work under pressure and to short deadlines
  • Good verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to interact effectively with supervisors, operatives and contractors
  • Excellent organisational skills and flexible in approach to teamwork
Desirable:
  • Able to take ownership of own work and ability to work autonomously and proactively
  • Self-motivated and solution-driven to contribute to the success of the service
  • Experience of working within a busy office environment
  • Haulage or transport management experience
  • Weighbridge clerk experience
