LGV Class 1 Driver - £14.21 per hour / flexible shift options


A.F. Blakemore & Son Ltd are a privately owned company and one of the largest convenience retailers in the UK, currently servicing circa. 1,000 Spar convenience stores and employing more than 7,500 people with a turnover in excess of £1 billion.


We are currently looking to recruit experienced Class 1 Drivers at our Sittingbourne Outbase. We are offering:


  • £14.21 per hour, with the opportunity for additional productivity based earnings
  • Additional shifts paid at £17.50 per hour
  • Early start allowance of £1.42 per hour before 6am
  • Double decker allowance of £0.50 per hour
  • Between 45 – 48 average hours per week
  • £35,584 annual salary based on 48 hours per week, with the opportunity for additional productivity based earnings and additional shift/early start premiums


The job role includes:


  • Multi-drop – between 5 and 10 deliveries.
  • Roll cage deliveries of food to retailers and garage forecourts using refrigerated vehicles and tail-lifts
  • Collection of empty roll cages and store waste/returns.
  • Some hand-ball deliveries are required.
  • Majority of start times are between 0300 and 0600.
  • 6 day operation.
  • Shift Pattern – 4 days out of 6, Monday to Saturday.
