This is a great opportunity to join our clients Global Business as a Field Service Engineer to carryout maintenance, fault finding and planned exams on the Class 66 & 69 Locomotives.

Being based from home and the client will provide you with transport and the tools and will usually be dispatched to travel within a 2 hour window of your home, but this may be longer depending on the clients needs.

Being a lone working role you will need to be a confident Engineer that can deliver not only a high quality of work but also execute on the service level agreements with the client.

Ideally we are looking for a candidate that has experience with Locomotives, Class 66 in particular, but the role would suit someone from a Military or Agriculture background or have experience with Heavy Plant Equipment and HGV Diesel engines as a minimum, although training will be provided.

The role as a Field Service Engineer
  • Work Safely and to the clients H&S guidelines
  • Carry out maintenance and repairs, faultfinding and modifications
  • Communicate confidently and effectively with the client maintaining strong relationships
  • Deliver and maintain high standards at all times
  • Accurately complete paperwork required
  • Respond to customers needs quickly and effectively
Qualifications required for a Field Service Engineer
  • Advanced Apprenticeship
  • ONC or BTEC in Engineering or European Equivalent
  • Full Driving license
  • Experience with Large Diesel Engines or with Locomotives
Package on offer for a Field Service Engineer.
  • Starting Salary £39,375 pa including shift increasing to £45,000
  • Contracted 37.5 hours per week
  • Overtime paid at 1.5 times
  • Company van and fuel card
  • 5% Pension matched by the client
  • 24 hour on call rota 1 week in 10 (on call salary supplement £40)
