This is an exciting opportunity for a trainee with an interest in developing a career in dermatology.

This post is designed for a trainee who has an interest in a career in dermatology. As such it will give broad exposure to outpatient dermatology and dermatology surgery allowing the successful candidate to strengthen their CV with a view to ultimately applying for a national Dermatology training number.

This allows the successful candidate to strengthen their CV with a view to ultimately applying for a specialist registrar post.

Ward based inpatient clerking and general inpatient duties

Opportunities for minor skin surgery

Although there are no formal on-call responsibilities, there are potential opportunities for ad hoc General Medical Tier 1 or Registrar admission shifts at Arrowe Park Hospital

The Dermatology Department currently has one full time consultant dermatologist, Dr Dr Boon B Tan, 2 parttime consultants, Dr Natasha Hashim and Dr Wendy Farrar and one full time locum consultant, Dr Roopa Karumanchery, as well as a part time associate specialist, a part time specialty doctor, an SpR on the Mersey Regional rotation, three GPwSIs as well as specialist nurses with a range of special interests. The department sees approximately 6,500 new patients per annum and undertakes 2,500 day case procedures.
