We are looking for a friendly, honest, reliable, hard-working and self-motivated individual to join our team. It is essential that the chosen candidate has the ability to deliver an excellent customer experience. You will need to have the right attitude, the ability to get loads to customers on time, safely and with a smile.

An immediate start is preferable, but we are happy to honour existing notice periods for a suitable candidate. As a courier driver for our company we can guarantee that no two days will be the same. You will be delivering all over mainland UK. This position however requires the candidate to live in or around the Derby area. Essential information to consider before applying: if you are not located around the specified area your application will not be considered and you will not receive any correspondenceto notify you of this.

This is not a multi drop delivery job and you will not be working from a depot. You must be willing and able to take the van home and have a safe place to keep it. A typical day would consist of completing at least four jobs on average.

A typical job would consist of making a collection from one customer (usually business) then delivering it directly to another. Most loads do not require any handball work as it is mainly pallets that are being delivered. Some jobs do require hanballing, but they will only contain a small amount of packages. The chosen candidate will be expected to complete a minimum of 8.5 hours per day. Some days may even rise to 10 - 12 hours. If more hours are worked you will have the ability to collect and deliver more loads, meaning you will be paid more. We do not offer a flat rate, day rate payment. You will be paid based on the job which is completed. A job can vary from 5 miles to 450 miles. As such the rate of pay per job/per day could vary. If targets are achieved, we expect you to earn on average of £105.

This role is for a self employed sub contractor, using the company vehicle, fuel and insurance. Due to this you are expected to contribute your own tax and N.I. (help and advice can be provided) as this position is not exclusive and can be worked in conjunction with other duties should you choose.

Experience of driving a large van (lwb or xlwb) is preffered but not essential.

Responsibilities:

• Be able to make safe and secure deliveries to customers.
• Have the use of a fully operational smart mobile phone for the use of the app and sat nav (google maps).
• Know how to navigate the software system. Training will be provided.
• Be able to effectively communicate with customers inacourteous and friendly manner.
• Meet customer needs, i.e. be on time for collections and deliveries.
• Must have own safety boots and hi-vis jacket.
• Must have held a valid UK driving license for 7 years

Job Types: Full-time, Freelance

Salary: £80.00-£150.00 per day

Schedule:

• 10 hour shift
• 8 hour shift
• Monday to Friday

Ability to commute/relocate:

• Derby, Derbyshire: reliably commute or plan to relocate before starting work (required)

Experience:

• Delivery driver experience: 1 year (preferred)
• Driving: 7 years (preferred)

Licence/Certification:

• Driving Licence (required)
