Would you really like to make a difference to the health and well being of the young people of Buckinghamshire?

Due to increases in the Service specification in the school based immunisation programme and additional cohorts for flu and HPV for boys, the Buckinghamshire School Nursing Immunisation Service is looking for a part time, term time only band 5 staff nurse based at Amersham Hospital.

The immunisation team is commissioned by Public Health England to provide school based immunisations in every primary and secondary school in Buckinghamshire helping to protect 4-19 year olds against Flu, HPV, Diphtheria, Tetanus, Polio. Meningitis ACWY and Measles, Mumps and Rubella. In addition the team also responds to disease outbreaks as directed by Public Health England.

The team is very supportive, dynamic and forward thinking and uses an electronic consenting system which has revolutionised the service.

The post holder will ensure that all children, young people and families in Buckinghamshire are offered age appropriate immunisations in a safe and supportive environment together with evidenced based information on the benefits of immunisation.

On occasions the post holder may also be required to work supporting the locality school nursing team. The service will be offered within the framework of national and local targets and available resources and all training will be given.

This post is based in Amersham. However, this is a community staff nursing post and therefore the successful applicant will have the variety of working from various bases across the county of Buckinghamshire.
