Claims Risk & Governance Specialist

Our Risk & Governance team based in Stratford-upon-Avon have a new Fixed Term Contract opportunity available for an experienced professional to join them as a Claims Risk & Governance Specialist for an estimated duration of 6 months starting as soon as possible.

The position will entail providing assurance that claims risks are managed within risk appetites and contributing to the on-going improvement of the risk management and the control environment through audits, reviews, advice and guidance.

Accountabilities of the role will include:

• 
  Ensure that risks and issues are assessed, recorded and monitored in accordance with company standards


• Design, plan, conduct and report on audits and risk reviews to provide assurance that claims risks are identified and managed and issues are addressed


• Advise, influence and challenge business projects on control design and risks to ensure risks are identified and managed and the impact of change is considered.


• Monitor, challenge and report on audit recommendations, actions and emerging risks, compliant with NFUM policies to ensure actions are appropriate and completed to deadlines, mitigate exposure to risk and provide assurance to management


• Facilitate, advise on and coordinate the development, testing and maintenance of the Business Continuity Plan, in collaboration with Claims Management and Corporate Governance and Risk Management


• Investigate, plan and control responses to incidents to ensure risks are accurately evaluated and managed, minimising business disruption and following agreed escalation processes


• Raise risk awareness across Head Office Claims.

We are seeking a dynamic and diligent professional who can demonstrate the following:

• 
  Experience of technical general insurance or experience with risk management / audit activities


• Knowledge of regulatory framework


• Ability to analyse large data sets using Microsoft Excel, Power BI, or similar


• Experience of managing and influencing stakeholders.

You will be a confident communicator with a can-do attitude and excellent understanding of risk identification and as well as quality control and governance. And if you have knowledge of the Xactium risk management system, that would be highly beneficial but please note it’s not a pre-requisite.

  Salary in the range of £37,000 - £40,000 DOE
