The key to our future success and retention of service engineers is through training and development. Crown are committed to supporting the development of apprentices and truly believe this is an essential part of our business recruitment strategy.

This role will support the Head of UK Technical Training on a nationwide basis fulfilling current apprentice training requirements. Undertake and complete projects within agreed timescales to support any training requirements that arise. The department is tasked with delivering a high level of training to Apprentices, Service Engineers, other Crown personnel and Customers.

Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):

  • Full performance management of the Apprentices scheme including liaison with college, performance of Apprentices to plan and logistics
  • Conduct one-to-one meetings to review technical skills and college work with Apprentice, Mentor and/or Service Manager
  • Escalation point for any issues relating to attendance, performance or personal issues from either Service Management or College
  • Plan/deliver training at strategic locations throughout the UK
  • Working with the Recruitment & Onboarding Advisor, support the recruitment for any new Apprentices including agreement with Service Management team for location, support through to onboarding and induction
  • Establish a close working relationship with all service management to ensure the correct level of engineer support is maintained in each area.


Person Specification

Essential Skills:
  • In-depth knowledge of Apprenticeship schemes
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • PC Skills (Microsoft office)
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, for both engaging with customers, engineers and within the team.
  • Excellent team working skills.
  • High level of productivity and good prioritisation skills.
  • Experience of running training sessions and demos in person.
  • The ability to measure and assess staff training needs.
  • A passion for continuous learning.
  • Innovative thinking.
  • Full UK driving licence.
  • Ideally from a Materials Handling industry background
  • Experienced in Electrical / Mechanical / Hydraulic Engineering
  • Level 3 Qualification in an Electrical and Mechanical Engineering Discipline

Desirable Skills:
  • Award in Education & Training – Level 3 (or willing to work towards)
